the fbi now on the ground in libya. here's the latest. >> caller: good evening, larry, the fbi has arrived in tripoli, libya where they are carrying out an investigation. certainly on the ground there, they will try to visit the u.s. consulate and perhaps speak to libyans who were either security guards at the compound or eyewitnesses. libyan officials tell us that they have about 50 individuals that are in their custody. but keep in mind, these are not necessarily suspects, but people who could have valuable information as to who was -- according to libyan officials and others, early indications suggest that it might have been a group that was a very religious group but since then has become slightly more extreme, even by libyan standards. the group itself denies that it had know operational link to that group. the group also is within itself somewhat divided and there's no doubt that in the coming days we'll learn more about it and what role they have in this attack that seems to be the focus of the investigation as i

i mean, when they kind of blew it on this libya thing. they need somebody -- >> it's hard for me to imagine, bob, how could have they lost last week? i know they did but it amazes me. problem didn't demonstrate once been in a whole new venue of international policy his wholly inadequate skills last week on foreign policy. >> i totally disagree with that. i think he came across as cool, in command and did a good job. but why did romney lose so much? because in the middle of a mess like this, when american lives are at stake and you know this, you don't go out and attack the president of the united states and say that he's somehow or another sympathizes with terrorists. that's how he lost it. if you handed that statement to ronald reagan, if you handed that statement to george bush or go, h.w. bush, i think they would have looked at you and said you know you have a new job in this campaign. why don't you answer the phones because it was ill-advised. it was a mistake. today they announced they are is going to have a whole bunch of specifics.

i want to go back to libya and benghazi and that whole story. front page "new york times." we lost most of our intelligence assets because of this snafu, because of this mistake. the cia lost a lot of intelligence assets. we may be wiped out. now, again, president obama in the "60 minutes" last night could not get himself to say that this was premeditated, that this was a terrorist plot. he's still hanging on to the video story which, as you know, is a falsehood. i call it a lie. i believe ambassador, u.n. ambassador susan rice, should have been made to resign, or she should have taken the honorable route and resigned herself after misleading the entire country. but how can it be that obama himself cannot bring himself, like israel being our best ale, cannot bring himself to suggest that there was a complicated, a complicated and large terrorist plot around the killing of our ambassador and our agents in the embassy. >> well, larry, let me just go back to something the ambassador was saying. she's a diplomat, and has to be diplomatic. i'm not a diplomat. i don't have to be.
